Our Aim
Cathcart Elementary students will demonstrate on-going academic achievement and responsible citizenship.

Parent Involvement
Parents and community members are always welcome at school. Those wishing to volunteer at the school may contact a teacher directly or volunteer through the school office. All volunteers in the classroom must complete a Washington State Patrol I.D. check.  Cathcart Elementary is fortunate to have dedicated parents working to support children and our school. The CPO provides direct support and assistance to the students and staff by volunteering and helping with various programs and events.

Attendance
Your child's consistent attendance at school is extremely important to all of us at Cathcart. Punctual attendance is an essential habit to develop and nurture; and is critical to your child's academic and social successes at school. In the event your child will be absent due to illness, a health condition, a religious observance, or a family emergency, you must contact the school office at 360-563-7126.  This is a 24-hour attendance line for your convenience. Please be advised, all unreported absences  will be recorded as unexcused.

Student Program
Cathcart Elementary provides a comprehensive academic program geared to the needs of each individual student. Emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of skills and abilities which will enable each student to become a successful member of society in a rapidly changing world. Classrooms are configured in self-contained, multi-age, and/or team teaching formats. A variety of supplemental instructional programs, including Special Education, Learning Assistance Program and the Highly Capable classroom, help meet a broad range of student needs. In addition, all students participate in a program of regular instruction in physical education, music and library skills.

Visitor Information: Please Check in at the office!
Visitors are always welcome at Cathcart! To ensure safety and proper security, we ask that ALL visitors sign in at the main office and wear a visitor badge while they are on the school premises. If you wish to visit the classroom, please make arrangements with your child's teacher in advance.

Tardy / Early Dismissal / Bus Pass
If your child will be arriving late to school, please be sure to let the office know by calling the attendance line.  When arriving, your child must sign in at the office front desk before going to class.

When picking up your child from school before dismissal time, please come to the office to sign them out.  Your child will then be called from class to meet you in the office.

In order for a student to ride a different bus after school to a friend's or daycare, the office must receive a note from the parent so that a bus pass can be issued.
