Welcome to Cathcart Elementary school. At Cathcart, our mission is to work together to help every student become the best they can be in a safe, friendly, and fun community. We value what every student and every family brings to our learning community. We believe that all students can learn, and at Cathcart we foster learning and success for every student.
We encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education by working with us in partnership. Working as a team will allow us to provide the best education for every student.
This handbook will provide you with important information about our school and how you can help. We encourage you to read it, and then keep it on hand as a ready reference.

About Cathcart Elementary
Cathcart Elementary provides a comprehensive academic program geared to the needs of each individual student. Emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of basic skills and abilities which will enable each student to become a successful member of society in a rapidly changing world.
Classrooms are configured in self-contained, multi-age and/or team-teaching formats. A variety of supplemental instructional programs, including special education, learning assistance program and the highly capable classroom, help meet a broad range of student needs in a very successful manner. In addition, all students participate in a program of regular instruction in physical education, music and library skills.
School colors
Our school colors are green and white and our school mascot is the cougar. Students and staff are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing green on Thursdays. Cathcart Elementary spirit wear is also available through the CPO organization.
