Cold and flu season is here in our community, and the health of our students and staff remains a top priority. Here are a few helpful reminders for families to help keep our schools healthy.

Valley View Middle School is excited to invite our incoming 7th grade families to its Spring Preview Night on Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the main gym. This special evening is designed  for parents/guardians and incoming 7th grade students to learn about the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, registration and opportunities for your children.  Please note that this event is for parents/guardians, student attendance is optional.  

This year’s spring teacher conferences will be held during the week of March 29. Tuesday, March 31, through Friday, April 3, are half-day early release for elementary, middle, and high schools. Please note that AIM High School and Parent Partnership Program conference and half-day early release day schedules will be communicated directly from each school to families. Please note that schools will be providing school-specific conference sign-up details in the coming weeks. Message from Superintendent Kent Kultgen regarding the results from the February 2026 election.

Spring Into Kindergarten will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 4-6:30 p.m. at district elementary schools. All 2026–2027 kindergarten families and students are highly encouraged to attend. Learn more at www.sno.wednet.edu/kindergarten.

We’re excited to share that beginning this school year, elementary schools in the Snohomish School District will be using a newly designed report card. The updated report card simplifies grading so it’s easier to understand a child’s progress toward grade-level standards.

We want to share an early update about the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school year calendars. We recognize how important advance notice is for family planning, and we appreciate your flexibility. The proposed start and end dates and other key breaks for both school years are outlined here.

Being in school on time, all day, every day makes a big difference for student success. Starting as early as kindergarten, consistent attendance helps children build strong learning habits, stay connected with their peers, and stay on track toward high school graduation.

The Snohomish School District will participate in the Washington State 2025 Healthy Youth Survey this fall. Cathcart Elementary is participating in the Washington State 2025 Healthy Youth Survey between October 10-17. The survey will be given to students in grades 6. T

With the new school year underway, our Meet the District Staff spotlights are shining once again for 2025-2026! Throughout the school year and weeks and months ahead, you’ll get to meet some of the amazing educators and staff who help make Snohomish School District such a special place to learn and grow. New spotlights will be shining all school year ... so keep watching!

Snohomish School District participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program sponsored by the USDA. All families who meet federal income eligibility may apply for meal benefits and can access additional district and community benefits with this annual eligibility. Any family is encouraged to apply to receive these benefits if you think your household will qualify. Free/reduced meal applications for the 2025-2026 school year are currently available online and in paper form. Visit www.sno.wednet.edu/freereducedmeals to learn more.

The school’s meet the teacher event will be held on Thursday, August 28. Students will be able to meet their teachers, locate their classrooms and put away their school supplies.

For students in 7th grade, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 10 to be accepted for school entry. If your child is 10 years old and already received this booster, their immunizations are complete. The middle school nurse may need medical verification when this vaccine was given. If your child receives this booster anytime between now and the start of next school year, please bring the record to the school nurse. It is good to keep a copy of immunizations for your records.
